FYI: Regular reader, Steinway, who mans our LA Bureau, reported much of the same information offline a few days ago.

I tend to agree that the MSM depiction of these things is rarely fair, balanced or thorough.

Some LA commentary from Steinway:

"It's their honest belief that whomever follows Bratton cannot be worse."
